Over 50,000 farmers are spending the night on the streets of Ghaziabad, on the outskirts of Delhi. On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, these farmers had hoped to end their 10-day Kisan Kranti Yatra near Rajghat, to protest against increasing distress and demand better prices for their crops, protection from spiralling fuel prices and a one-time full loan waiver. But instead, they've faced water canons, tear gas, lathicharge and not even been allowed to enter the national capital. The government's assurances haven't worked so far and farmers say their protests will continue. On Trending @ 10, we look at the growing farmer distress and ask: are Delhi's doors closed to farmers?
