Ball by Ball Sachin Tendulkar's sledge & epic battle with Glenn Mcgrath in Nairobi 2000
Sachin Tendulkar and Glenn McGrath have been engaged in many epic battles over the years. One such day was October 7, 2000. It was the quarter-final match of the ICC Knockout Trophy known as ICC Champions Trophy now. McGrath was bowling well initially and he tried to get under the skin of Sachin by some choice words. Sachin, normally not so chirpy did not back down this time and gave it back to him. Not done yet, what followed was a massive assault on McGrath that saw him carted all over the ground. McGrath had no clue what hit him and was left speechless as Sachin subjected him to the treatment usually meted out to net bowlers. He eventually fell for 38 off 37 balls to Brett Lee, but McGrath's confidence was already dented. Sachin's bold step was not lost on Team India as Sourav Ganguly's men overcame the World Champions by 20 runs to progress to the semis.
